Luncheon with a Legend.

Yesterday, our tax team went to an accounting luncheon. Exciting huh? Well, turns out this one was one we were glad we attended. As we walked in the door the room was buzzing, someone exciting was there. Melissa immediately said, "It's Eddie Sutton". If anyone knows this girl she is one of the biggest OSU sports fans I know. We all sat down at our table, noticing he was only a few tables away. The whole time Melissa and I were whispering about him. It is funny how people act around celebrities (at least he is in our eyes). During the speech I started to think, you know this may be one of the only times I am around this guy without a hundred other people. I started to pump myself up to go ahead and ask for a picture. I mean what's the harm. So as soon as the luncheon was over. I asked Melissa, "hey, wanna see if he will take a picture with us". She reponded with a laugh like you are a little crazy but for sure I do. We were in line picking up our credit for attending, so Eddie had a head start on us. Well that didn't stop crazy Amy by then I was pumped full of courage. So off I went chasing after Eddie, with Melissa cracking up not far behind. Jake (another OSU grad) spotted what was going on and followed along. I finally caught up with Eddie and asked, "sir, we are all OSU graduates, could we please take a picture with you?" He responded with "of course!" He was so happy to take the picture with us, and even talked with us a few minutes about the good old days (when OSU was actually good at basketball). Then he thanked us for the time and went on about his day. What a nice man! Just another day in the life of an accountant.

Sniff, sniff

I have a slight habit of smelling and twirling my hair, or as my sisters and I call it twerdling my hair. I mean it's not really noticable. ;) When I was a little girl my sister Lisa and I would have slumber parties and sleep in the same bed. Well poor Lisa would occasionally wake up the next day with a few "twerdles" in her hair. I mean no big deal I am sure they always came right out. Well maybe the scissors had to be involved a few times. I don't really remember it was so long ago, and come on I was like 6. (On a side note my sister blames me now for her wedge hair cut she always sported. Apparently she feels the twerdling could have led to that, but I am not sure. I think she is just trying to find blame for her fun hair cuts.) Anywho, a few weeks ago I was driving home and I glanced in the back at Addison. Low and behold that girl gave herself a twerdle. I laughed so hard and at the same time was a little proud. Then tonight I picked up Addy to steal a few kisses, and she took a strand of my hair and put it underneath my nose. Then she proceeded to put it under her nose and sniff it, complete with a sniffing sound I may add. Where does she come up with this stuff? My little girl is just like me.
(Note: As I read this post I caught myself twerdling and sniffing. Geez!)

Welcome Spring!

I love springtime. It is so nice to feel the warmer weather coming our way, especially after a crazy cold winter. Spring is filled with such beautiful flowers and colors.

Saturday we headed over to the park to take a few pictures. I was hoping to see tulips, but we saw daffodils instead. I am sure the tulips are not far away.

Eureka Springs Wedding & A Birthday Bash

A few weeks ago we drove to a wedding in Eureka Springs. One of Tim's friends from high school was taking the plunge. We loaded in the car on Saturday morning for a nice drive to Eureka Springs. I say nice, which most of it was until we hit the twist and turns of the mountain. Neither Tim nor I enjoyed the others "perfect" driving through these parts. Anywho we made it to the nice chapel without killing each other. We were excited to see the beautiful bride and groom, but also super excited to see some of our best friend Jill and Josh and their gorgeous children Avery and Jack. Here are a few pictures from the event.

Daddy & Addy

Running away from Daddy.

We had a little wait between the ceremony and the reception, so we went back to the cabin to relax. Addy got to play with Avery's big girl doll. She just loved all of the hair.

Wedding cake

The next day was miss Madison's first birthday. Yes, Addy is wearing the same outfit. Don't worry I washed it before we went to the party. It was just too cute, and she grows so fast there are only so many opportunities to sport a cute outfit.
Addison & Madison. This car didn't use to be this much of a tight fit.

Of course.. birthday cupcake!

The car was a huge hit with everyone.
Briley is driving and Addison is hitching a ride on the back.

Zoo

This weekend the weather is amazing, so we decided to take a trip to the zoo. While we were there we decided to become zoo members. Wow, do I feel like a real grown-up now. Now we can take Addison whenever we want and for as long as we want. We don't feel like we have to be there all day to get our money's worth. We can come and go as we please. I think shorter trips will make it more fun for everyone. Tim and I were so excited to take Addy. She loves Cleo, Ace & Annie (our cat and dogs), so we figured the zoo would be tons of fun for her. Well, our little princess either didn't have a good day or is more of a domestic animal type of girl.

This picture pretty much sums up the trip. Unimpressed.

We thought she would love to see the chimps, so we waited as the trainers filled their toys with food. About 30 seconds after all of the chimps entered their cage Addison wasn't feeling it. She clung to us and wanted out of that room. This is pretty much how she looked in the room.

Tim thought it would be fun to ride a camel. Addison didn't seem to love the heights or the hump.
Tim said she was tightly gripping the handle the whole ride.

The tortoise should be pretty harmless right?
Well she wouldn't touch it for anything.

Finally, mom I know what that is!!!

The carousel! Most trips to the mall include a carousel ride. We usually sit on an animal and ride up and down, but today she just wanted to sit on the bench. We did manage to get a few laughs and smiles though!

Of course every trip to the zoo is not complete without pictures behind a cut out.

As we were leaving the train went by tooting its horn. Addison pointed and jabbered at it, so next time we are going to try out a train ride. Until then my little sensitive princess is going to have to toughen up and not be so scared. We didn't even make it to the lion, tigers or bears. Oh my!
