Weekend Recap

We had a fun busy weekend. I started off the weekend working late on Friday night. I was very nervous that this would be the start of a no fun weekend. Luckily I got a lot done on Friday night so I was able to have a fun two days with my husband and girls. Saturday morning I ran a few errands then that afternoon we went to my uncle's wedding. It was fun to see family and the girls got to wear their Easter dresses again!

Sisters!

Then Saturday night my sister Jenny graciously watched Addy and Lilah so Tim and I could squeeze in a date night. We went shopping and I found several cute summer dresses. Then had an appetizer at Leon's. We were still stuffed from the wedding.

Sunday we skipped church and took some spring pictures at Woodward park. The azaleas were beautiful. Here is a sneak peak of the pictures.

Sunday afternoon Tim played golf and Addy had Mackenna over for some big sister fun.

We ended the weekend with some fun. A trampoline!

Random Catch Up

- Finally, the April 15th, "Tax Day" has passed. Bring on the sickness. Some how it never fails, I always get sick during the last week of tax season or the day after. This time I have been feeling ill since Easter. I thought it was allergies, but I guess it is a cold. Boo! I celebrated last night by visiting the urgent care and getting round two of antibiotics for a sinus infection.

- My little sweeties aren't fairing much better. Friday we turned a well visit for Lilah into a sick visit for both the girls. Still just a cold, but Sunday night Addison woke up in the middle of the night crying her ear hurt. Back to the doctor on Monday and home with medicine for an ear infection.

- If I was tough like my Auntie Trish we would all eat ginger and magically be healed. But after once in college where she tried to stuff that down my throat I would rather just use modern medicine. Yuck!

- Today is my first day off in a long time. Tim took the kids to Stacy's this morning so I could sleep in, but I realized I haven't sat out on the porch and blogged in a long time. Two kids has a way of eating up all your free time! So out here I am, wishing the sun was shining and I wasn't drinking my coffee in sweats!
- Speaking of two kids, my goodness it is tiring. Not sure how on earth my parents did it with 5, nor how my mom stayed home with 5. Notice it is my day off and the kids are at Stacy's haha. Apparently, I am not the stay at home type.

- I do have a lot planned for today, shopping, a hair color, dishes and random errands that keep getting shoved to the bottom of the list.  I need to submit my evaluations for work (due tomorrow) but I am procrastinating.

- I am ready for spring weather to come and stay. No more of this getting cold! Bring on spring!!!

- We need to figure out what we are going to do with our flower beds. I am thinking periwinkles, begonias and impatiens. We have had pretty good luck with all of them and they seem somewhat hard to kill. I did not get the gardening gene from my mother. I actually don't enjoy it at all. Right now in my time of life it is just one more thing to keep up with.

-I know you aren't supposed to finish sentences with prepositions, but I can never figure that one out. This blog is not gramatically correct, which is probably killing every Webster that is reading this. Haha, I am a rebel!

- So the month of March Tim and I ran/walked/jogged/sprinted/chased kids a mile every day(except we skipped the last day Easter). I had grand plans of starting the Couch to 5K program in April, but I have failed. With getting sick and working very late several nights the last two weeks, I was in survival mode. I did go to bootcamp a couple of times, but not consistently. This baby weight may take two years to get off, but it will come off darn it! I was hoping for June when I am going on a girls trip to the beach in Mexico. Oh well, my journey is SLOW, but at least it is a journey.

- My little Lilah girl LOVES food. The doctor told us she can start eating all table foods. Tim took this as give her EVERYTHING! The night after seeing the doctor he gave her cheese, a bite of hotdog, and bread. Last night he blitzed a pork chop in the food processor and she loved it. He is way more adventurous than I. I just want her to be my baby FOREVER, but the girl loves food. Time to let go a little, boy it is so much harder with this one.

- I only checked and answered my work email about 5 times during this post. Obviously, I have trouble disconnecting!

- I will leave you with some zoo pics. Every year around the first of April I start to get antsy to be outside and usually have been working a lot and miss my family. So we skip church and take a trip to the zoo. Always fun and the girls love it.

Lilah: 9 Months

Sweet little Lilah,

Wow 9 months. It is going too fast. This past month seems like just a blink of an eye. I have been super busy with work. You have spent a lot of time with your daddy and family members. I am so excited for April 15th so that I can get back to a regular routine of picking my girlies up after work and spending time with you on the evenings and weekends.

You weigh 16 lbs and 7 ounces and are 27" long. You are in size 3 diapers and wear 6 months. However, I have started to buy spring/summer clothing and on those nice days I have put you in 9 month clothing. It is still a little big, but it works. So I guess you are kind of an in betweener, 6 months is not too small and 9 months is a little too big.

You continue to be a good eater. You like everything you try. You have had several fruits and vegetables. I started making a few combo foods like apples and bananas, broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots and a berry and applesauce combo. On the occasion that we are out and about we take pre-made baby food pouches. We tried pumpkin and banana combination . You love all of it. Last month, you were starting to try to pick up little food puffs with some trouble. Sometimes it didn't get in your mouth. This month they are no problem at all. You actually try to chew them, even though they pretty much just melt in your mouth. I think we will start with soft food pieces soon. I just want to be part of the action. Your mom has been working a lot lately. In a few weeks it will slow down and I can be part of the dinner action again. Then we will start having some fun with really food. Update: Tonight we fed you banana pieces. You loved it and nearly ate a whole banana!

We finally have a nice sleep routine going! You have slept through the night pretty much every night this month. You are ready for bed between 7:30 and 8:00. When you are home on the weekend or during spring break you also took a morning nap and afternoon nap. However, Stacy says no morning naps for her. I think there is just too much excitement with the other kiddos.

You are on the go! On the first day of this month, pretty much when I pushed publish on your last month's letter, you pulled up. You also easily move from laying down to sitting to pulling up. You love to stand and be upright. Soon after pulling up you tried to walk between toys. Sometimes you just try to take a step, but end up falling because you are just not stable yet. Towards the middle of the month your daddy brought down a push toy from the attic. You love it. You just want to move move move!

Highlights from this month...

- St. Patricks Day and Easter
- You have 4 teeth, two top and two bottom.
- If music is playing, you are singing with it. One morning on the way to church, your sister was watching Thumblina, which has a lot of singing in it. You were singing away and Addy said, "Mom can you tell Lilah to stop singing. I can't concentrate!" So apparently your singing is rather loud.
- Most recently your daddy or a nice relative have been helping with pick up. I do try to make it home before bed so I can nurse you. As soon as I walk in the door you practically leap out of daddy's arm to get to me. I love it!!! The rest of the evening you have to be in my arms or right next to me. I am sure it is mostly because you know you get to nurse, but I am going to say because you just love your mommy!
- It has become a wrestling match to change you. Now that you are always on the go you have become a little one that wiggles and moves. Laying on your back just doesn't happen. Lots of distraction and sometimes just pinning you down occurs during your diaper changes.
- Much like Oklahoma weather it has been very nice and very cold this month. During a few of the nice days we have enjoyed some outside time. You love it.
- We went on several walks. You laughed and giggled the whole time.
- You hate being on your back. You rarely cry, but when you are forced to lay on your back you usually cry.
- You are still in awe of your sister and follow her around the room. This used to be just with your eyes, now you are on the move towards the action and fun that is Addison.
- Daddy was on spring break and spent some extra time with you.
- You love Elmo, your music table, and your push toy.
- You are a speedy crawling girl now. In the past week you moved from army crawling to full fledged crawling.
- Daddy took you and your sister golfing today. He said you loved being outside just taking in the sights.

Lilah, you are just the sweetest little girl and such a ray of sunshine in our life. We love you so very much!

Love you forever and always,
Mommy
