Girls Week!

Last week Tim had his annual guy only ski trip. I must admit I was pretty darn nervous about my partner leaving me with two crazy girls. Tim is amazing when it comes to helping with domestic duties, especially mornings. I am slow to wake up and take much longer to get ready than he does, so he does a lot of the getting the girls ready in the morning. Also, Monday before he left I had taken Lilah to the doctor because I was just sure she had an ear infection, that just had to be the reason she was waking up in the middle of the night. Tim refused to take her because he said the only reason she was crying was because she wants a pillow top mattress and to sleep in our bed. Well, let's just say I made the doctor double check her diagnosis because "spoiled" was not what I wanted to hear. So Monday night we started sleep training (ie "cry it out"). It was awful. She cried for an hour and a half. So needless to say I was pretty nervous about my husbands departure. Oh yeah, work is insane right now! So off he went skipping with his friends to the snow covered mountains of Colorado. (Addy called it college. LOL) I pulled up my big girl panties determined to kick the weeks tail. I must say that it went pretty well. Throughout the work week I worked, picked up the girls, and did all our night time duties. Lilah slept one night then didn't the next. She is on an every other pattern. Addison added to the fun one night and peed the bed (pull-ups, were utilized the rest of the week). I felt I deserved a giant Starbucks every morning. For the most part the week went great and I was on-time to work everyday! On the weekend I decided we needed a fun mom/girls activity. It may or may not have been to help tire out my wee ones so that I could work during nap time. So off to the aquarium we headed. A Chick-fil-a breakfast stop on the way and a McDonald's stop on the way home (the weekend was a bust on mom cooking, but I did cook through out the week!). I just let Addison lead us through the aquarium even the shark tank 5 times. (Which she kept saying she was scared of but some how we kept ending up there). Addison did get a treat for being good, a lollipop (at first she wanted a unicorn, then spied something sweet).  After naps/work we ventured to Wal-Mart. It was Lilah's first time to ride in the cart sans the infant carrier. Both girls were good thanks to chew toys and Addy's Cinderella on my phone (she is addicted!). That evening we watched Rapunzel and even made it to church the next day. I was pretty tired when Tim finally made it home the next day, and we were all so glad he had fun and made it home safely. All in all it was a great week and I am thankful I got to spend time with my girls. However, I am so thankful I have an awesome husband to help me raise our princesses.

Here are some pictures from our adventures....

Little ballerina

Last month Addison started taking ballet class. She started mid semester, but at three years old it is pretty much learning to stand in one spot and sort of take directions. This week they had a special Valentine's song. It was cute! She is about average in her class. There are some who do everything and some who just stand there. Regardless they are all super cute!

These days...

Life is crazy now. I was out of town some last week and Tim will be out of town most of next week. Work is crazy until sometime in May, so the best I can do is snipets of life when I actually remember to grab my camera. Something is better than nothing right? I forsee a lot of "These days" posts in my future.

Loving on Great Grandma. These pictures are hilarious!!

Teaching my little one to wash dishes. She ended up making strawberry soup and the floor by the sink ended up with an unintended mopping. She had a blast so that's all that matter. And we did end up with some clean dishes. She loves to help in the kitchen.

Kick-off breakfast to Valentine's week.

A way to trap entertain a busy toddler while trying to whip up dinner in 15 minutes.

and a cutie baby!

Lilah: 7 Months

Little Li li,

I watched you sleeping the other morning and you just looked so big. You are not my tiny newborn baby anymore. Every week you are growing and moving more and more.

You weigh 15 lbs and are 25 inches long. You are still in size 2 diapers and 6 month clothes. So you seem to be growing to my eyes but the numbers aren't moving too fast. Still a little one like your sister.

You have had lots of new foods this month, green beans, apples, pears, bananas, avocados. You are also back to cereal in the morning, a veggie cube at lunch and veggie or fruit cube at dinner. I have made all of your food and you seem to enjoy most everything. You are still drinking 4-5 oz bottles morning, noon and afternoon. I nurse you before work and usually twice in the evening.

Your sleeping, well little darling, still stinks. This month I think we got 5 nights where you slept through the night. You do only wake up once, but it is still a little draining on this momma who has been working a lot! I have had a few nights where I sleep upstairs and your daddy wakes up with you. I just started to get really behind on sleep and my body was yelling at me to rest. I know you will get it soon enough though. You have also become a little particular about how you go to sleep. You have become very attached to holding a blanket and sucking your thumb. While I am rocking you to sleep, (which never happened with your sister, you are a spoiled little cutie) I lay a blanket on my shoulder and you will grab it and pop that cute little thumb in your mouth. I have noticed that whenever you get tired you will fuss around and search for something soft to hold in order to put your thumb in your mouth, lots of times a blanket or my hair. In your 7 month photo shoot it was the bear you lay on. Throughout the day you will usually have two short naps or one long nap at Stacy's and a quick snooze to and from Stacy's. On the weekends like everything else it is just a free for all. You never know what is going to happen. Our family is just not scheduled. Everything is always changing and I absolutely love it! I started to worry that you would be a mess because we have no absolute schedule, but someone told me flexible children are great when it comes to going to school. So I am just going with that!

You have continued to move all over the place. You started army crawling this weekend and are getting pretty fast. You are so close to crawling. I am going to be out of town the rest of this week and I just know you will start crawling then. I am hoping you hold off to the weekend so I can witness it. If you don't I guess I will just pretend that you did. ;) You quickly can get to things that you are not supposed to have like shoes or your sisters Polly Pockets. I have a feeling chocking hazards are going to be more of a concern with you because there is a toddler in the mix. However, that little toddler loves you so very much. You two both light up when you are around each other. I just love how much you love each other. I hope that you always have a very special bond.

Highlights from this month....
- You were baptized, during which you bounced around, laughed, and waved your arms.
- You continue to be a very happy and content baby, always smiling.
- You love jewelry and earrings. You have started to notice and really grab at these things along with hair!
- You got the flu and proceeded to give it to our little family :( Daddy stayed home with everyone a whole week. Even when you had a fever you continued to be happy and smiley. The only way we could tell you were sick was your poor little eyes. They looked so sad and you developed a horrible cough.
- Love blowing raspberries and talking loud.
- You like to bang your toys. You seem to be getting louder and starting to love the attention you get.
- You will copy your sister. When she is bouncing on her rocking horse, you will bounce in your entertainer.
- Started saying dada and baba
- Love taking a bath with your sister.
- If I am in the room you prefer your mommy, especially when you are tired!!!
- You got your second tooth.
- Addy calls you Li.

Lilah you are a perfect addition to our family. You fit right in and are happy to go along on our crazy ride. We love you very very much!

Love you forever,
Mommy
