These Days: February

February always seems to be a bit rough. Over the past nine years it was crazy busy at work. This year work isn't the busiest, although I have been busier than the past several months. It is more the peak of basketball season. Winter finally hit in February and we have had several snow days. My girls couldn't play outside during most of them because we have been SICK. Tim kicked off the month with the Flu, which thankfully none of us got. But then we just passed around all sorts of crap. Stomach virus, bad colds, coughs, etc.... I am ready to for spring to be here already!

Another thing we battled during February was night terrors. During the beginning of the month little Addison was waking up several times a night just crying. The first night we tried to soothe her and such thinking it was a fluke. Well, after it continued for several nights in a row we contacted our nurse at the pediatrician's office. We explained that she would wake up crying about an hour after we laid her down. She would cry, not make any sense, and seem to not even realize she was out of bed. The next morning she would have no recollection. Our nurse faxed us over a write up on night terrors. It instructed us to wake her up about 15 minutes before her first wake up for the night. This would hopefully reboot her brain. We did this several nights in a row and it worked.

Here are some other fun things we did in February......

Addy painted a "love" sign.

My girls helped meal prep

I used some of my Starbucks gift cards from Christmas. With sick kids and night terrors, there were some really tired mornings in there.

Addison had her cavity filled. She did really well. And with "gassed up" actually spoke to the dentist. She actually spoke to everyone. Haha

Always performing

Celebrated Cousin Jack's 1st party where we saw Stacy!

We went on a couple's night out to Osaka.

Addison had her Valentine's Dance performance.

One of Lilah's teachers is having a baby. So she has also had a baby in her belly.

Snow day at home.

Ash Wednesday

Oh my little Lilah, you are being paid back from your biting days. This came home and I just laughed. A few days before the teacher told me that she held this boy down and slapped him in the face. Apparently they are exchanging pleasantries. She is going to be a fun one.

Lots of basketball

It was such a great year for this team. So exciting to be a part of it. They made it all the way to the third round of playoffs. So proud of them and their hard work.

My cute sick, cuddly girlies

Lilah has joined in on the Let it Go band wagon.

Chilling by the fire in style.

On the weekends we let the girls watch TV, get their own cereal, or play. Really anything to let us get a couple extra minutes of shut eye. One Saturday I woke up and thought they were still in bed. They usually wake us up before being directed to any of the above activities. This Saturday they had not woken us up. I came out of my room to find them watching TV and cuddling on the couch. Such cuteness. Addison was rubbing Lilah's hair.

We ended the month with a Frozen birthday party for Miss Madison. It ended up snowing lots on her birthday, so we had an impromptu slumber party with the Smith and Lewis family.

They are growing up.

Lilah is so in love with baby Morgan.

Naked painting party.

All bundled up ready for some fun.

Addy was trying to catch snowflakes on her tongue.

Love Day!

Geez February kicked our rears. Someone has been sick every week for the past 5 weeks. I am so ready for spring. So several weeks ago we celebrated Valentine's day. It fell on a Saturday so class parties were on Friday. Poor little Addy was sick so she got to go to work with mom for a little bit and had to miss her party. I think she may or may not have loved getting to go to my office. She set up her own little desk using all my supplies. It was adorable. She made me all sorts of post-it notes. Tim stopped by Lilah's party. By that evening Addy seemed better so we went to the basketball game.

That night Tim and I decorated the dining room for our Valentine's breakfast. Both girls woke up and loved the streamers. We had a nice breakfast and opened a few gifts. We bought the girls a boom box with some cds, a few target dollar items and a couple candy items.

My mom, grandma and sister came by for lunch so all of the grandkids could be together. My mom brought JL's and we enjoyed a little craziness and dress up before the next activity of the day.

That afternoon Addison had a birthday party for a little girl in her class at Bounce U. They were nice enough to have Lilah share in the fun as well. The adults had a pretty good time bouncing around too. I liked to think I was bouncing off the four chocolates I would be consuming in the near future. ;)

That night we had a family dinner of lobster tail, shrimp cocktail, mashed potatoes, green beans and rolls and the girls sported their new PJ's.
