I have read about bloggers doing "A Day in the Life" posts. I figured I would give it a try on one of my really crazy days. I think it will be something I will love to look back on when I am reminiscing with my kids. Addy loves to look back at our blog books from the past few years.
4:23 a.m. - My alarm goes off. I snooze and check facebook (slightly addicted, but it wakes me up). Alarm goes off again and out of bed this time. Get ready for the gym.
5:05 am - At the gym. Our instructor had an emergency, so I start off on the elliptical. Then notice a small body pump class is forming so I go check it out. We do a quick class, with barely any music because we can't use the speaker system. It was still great, burned 418 calories.
6:00 am - Rush out of the gym and back home to prep our Valentines breakfast. Since it is such a crazy day this will be the only time all four of us are together. Get home and lights are already on. Tim is so awesome. He is up dressed and has started the turkey bacon. He helped me decorate the dining room last night. I quickly get ready for the day and help him finish up breakfast. I also notice he started a load of laundry this morning so I switch it to the dryer (seriously feeling lucky for such a helpful husband). I use the pancake writer my mom got us for Christmas. LOVE IT! It is so fun and easy to use.

6:55 am- We go wake up the girls and tell them to hurry and get dressed! We have a surprise! I tackle Lilah and Tim takes Addy. I got the easy one ;). Addy is chatting about how she is cold and then starts getting excited about the day. She makes sure to tell me not to go in the playroom, where they have hidden my gifts. Lilah is a bit fussy and doesn't want mama to put her down. We go into the dining room and Addy is really excited. She sees her pancakes and says "Mom these are the best!". All the work was worth it for that one comment. Tim and I eat. The girls check out their gifts and nibble. We play around and take pictures.
7:24 am - Load everyone up and out the door. Call my hair dresser to discuss how we are both going to rock it today! I got my hair done last night and we were discussing the crazy day we had planned, so we were both encouraging each other to be super moms. Call my sisters. Drop off Lilah and chat with Stacy for a minute.
7:56 am- Roll into work. Grab coffee, potty break and filter through emails. Calls, meetings, work, work, work.

12:25 pm- Heat up my lunch and quickly head back to my office (No lunch breaks will be the trend for the next few months. I have decided I must maximize my production at work in order to minimize the time spent away from my family.) As I am headed back to my desk I take a bite and crapola soup all over my new white shirt. Quickly, run to the sink to try to wash off the stain that is forming. As I am wiping all over the front of my shirt I realize I am wearing a WHITE shirt that is quickly becoming see through. I contemplate my options. Decide that I am nearing the line of unprofessional and may possibly get my child dismissed from her school if mom comes to the party looking like she had just been at a wet t-shirt contest. Readjust the schedule and pack my lunch back in my bag. Text Stacy to say I am grabbing Lilah now so that I can go home and fix my current situation. Receive a text from Addy's teacher they are moving the party up 15 mins. Practically sprint to my car. My car won't unlock, oh because I don't have my purse. Geez! Phone upstairs and ask a colleague to pretty please bring it downstairs.
12:58 pm- Pull in the driveway, Lilah is begging and pleading to eat her ring pop she was given for Valentines Day. So I take a crying, mad kiddo and pray she will go down for a nap. We rock for a second then she points and whines at the pile of babies and such on the ground. I give in and let her find what she wants after offering several of the babies to go take a nap with her. No she would prefer to cuddle with a plate and fork. Okay whatever you must go to sleep so that I can get this shirt clean and jump back online to finish some work. I get out the stain then through the shirt in the wash for a rinse and spin cycle. Calculating just how many minutes this process with take. I really want to wear this outfit because Tim picked it out for me this past weekend. Nothing fancy, but it is super comfortable.
1:29 pm- Heat back up my lunch and back to work. As I am pulling the soup out of the microwave, spill some all down the cabinets and the floor. What the heck does this soup have against me!?!?!? Work, work, work, solve exciting tax problems.
2:05 pm - Wake Lilah up to go to Addy's party. It is obvious she was not asleep because when I open the door she pops up as if to say "Thank goodness I was tired of laying here".
2:12 pm - In the car for sister's party. Lilah is super happy.
2:29 pm - Pull in to the school. Lilah looks like she is ready for a nap. Haha. Oh well the sugar will fire her up in a few minutes. We go to Addy's classroom and everyone is waking up from their naps. Lilah is the star of the show and everyone is talking about "Addy's baby". Ms. Cathy, Ms Jessica and I start setting up for the party. Tim shows up and one of the little girls in Addy's class runs to him. She is Tim's buddy. Tim helps cut the cake and passes out doughnuts using a giant knife. Chaos ensues. Addy only wants me to sit by her and Lilah checks out all the toys. The kiddos eat and chat. We clean up after the party and I read books to the class until it's time to go outside.

3:35 pm - The class goes outside and we head over to catch the bus for Tim's game. I decided we might as well spend the last regular season game with the team. I mean what better way to spend Valentine's Day when with a bunch of high schoolers on a stinky school bus. Addy loves it. She instantly runs to the back to sit with the girls. Lilah is still too young to mingle with the older crowd. She sits with me and I try to occupy her with peek-a-boo, home videos on my phone, chips and fruit snacks.

5:00 pm - The JV boys game starts and our friends arrive at the game. Addison shows Madison the ropes of hanging out at dad's games. Melissa and I wrangle Lilah and Landon. Addy and Lilah make friends with a lady who has bold snack mix. She thought it would be too hot for them, but not my girls. They seem to like all snacky foods. They spend the last quarter of the game running to her for a piece then to the other end of the bench and back again. Quite a fun game. Luckily the JV games are not in high attendance so running wild is okay. Also, thankfully all of the people affiliated with Tim's school are so amazing to me and my girls. They accept the chaos that seems to follow two young babies and a tired working mom that tries her best to attend games and deal with over tired babies.
6:30 pm - The varsity girls game starts. That is our cue for dinner and getting up to stretch a bit. Oh and daddy can help some!! We head to the concession stand and no hot dogs or popcorn. What?!?! Those are our staples. We make do with walking tacos, nachos, and chips. I also have applesauce packets in my bag. I typically pack lots of veggies and fruit because I don't want to haul the girls to the concession stand and spend money on junk. However this time I decided concession food would be fine, because I was thinking there would be hot dogs. Oh well, our diet has not been a picture of health today.

7:30 pm - Tim has to go start preparing for his game and leaves to go get kids ready to play. By now our friends have left and one of my co-workers have arrived. Poor Donna she has to try to have a conversation with a mama that is super distracted keeping an eye on Addy as she is all over the place meeting people, cheering, general all over the placeness and Lilah is so tired she can't even see straight. She can't get comfortable and is fussy.
8:00 pm - The boys game starts. I hand Lilah off to a fellow coaches wife as I need to tend to some behavior correcting with Addison. We are working on listening and obeying our parents. Pretty sure this will be a work in progress of for the rest of her life. She is a very sweet loving girl with a mind of her own and believes at 4 she knows exactly what she wants. Not sure where she gets it ;) We have a few timeout sessions and calm down a bit. Aimee wants to hold Lilah longer. So Addy comes to sit with mama for a while. She needs some cuddling and sit down time anyway. At halftime my phone battery dies and Addy is ready for more fun with the high schoolers. She chats with all of them and then decides she will cheer with the cheerleaders for the second half. Lilah comes back to me and wants food and a drink. She is so very tired. I stand up and pace with her. Begging her to just fall asleep. No such luck. Aimee takes her again. Next thing I know she is passed out! Thank you, Aimee! I watch the last of the game. We are losing pretty bad. Boo. Finally, it's over. Addison runs wild around on the court like all the kids do after the game. I pack up and get my sleeping cutie. We finally make it to the bus.

9:50 pm - Tim pulls the bus into Arby's. The kids are starving. Addy is wired. She sits in the back with all the girls and loves every second of the attention. Back on the bus and it. won't. start. I laugh at the ridiculousness, but want to cry at the same time. Finally, Tim realizes something about the gear and it starts. Thank the lord. We start the ride back and Lilah falls back asleep.
11:56 pm - Pull into the driveway. Put Lilah in bed and sleep walk to my bed. Tim puts Addy to sleep and comes to bed to. What a busy, exhausting Valentine's Day. I would not have wanted to spend it with anyone else. I love my family of four as crazy as it is.
