Lilah and Charlotte's Birthday Party

This year we decided to have a combined birthday party for Lilah and Charlotte. They are only two days apart near a holiday, so finding open times are hard. Once we realized our pool would be open we pitched the idea of having a joint swimming part to the girls. They thought it was a wonderful idea and started planning their My Little Pony party instantly. Since we have a pretty big family, we decided to just invite family members. Despite the fact we were building a pool house and trying to finish the bathroom for the party, this was the easiest party to throw. Lisa and I split the duties and it was a very relaxed, fun party.

July 4th

I want to take a little break from the birthday fun to touch on July 4th. July 4th always means a long weekend for me. My job has been gracious in most years to provide a four day weekend to us. We always have lots of fun together as a family during this time. This year was a little more work than most. We (mostly Tim) have been working to get the pool house equipped with electric and a bathroom for Lilah's party this weekend. Although we did a lot of work, we had some fun in the evenings with neighbors and friends.

 

Lilah's Birthday Fun

Here are some of the highlights from Lilah's special day!

We have been starting the morning of birthday's with opening presents and fun door decorations.

Her very own copy of her favorite book from school.

Our traditional donut birthday breakfast!

She spent the rest of the day playing with Addy, swimming, visiting Chick-fil-a and picking out cupcakes for dessert.

For dinner she requested pizza.

Then we let her go wild with a whole dollar and buy tiny little toys that are probably already lost. haha

Finally, mom's favorite birthday tradition. Rocking them at the end of the day and remembering those wonderful newborn moments.
