These Days: January

This is what I missed most when I wasn't blogging, my monthly recaps. This is the reason I blog... to document all the big and small things. I print these every year and have a scrapbook of sorts. So here is the first month of 2019. If I were to sum it up in one word, BASKETBALL....

#12 was at it again. She is much more aggressive and confident this year. She will go after the ball on defense and is a pretty good dribbler down the court as a point guard. Daddy helps coach, which she has learned to like.

Sister, Lilah can be found cheering on her sister in full Eagle Cheer gear or reading to a friend in the stands.

Addison became an acolyte for our church.

I started a new job.

Grandma came to town and joined in a crazy weekend of Addy's and Daddy's basketball and a cheer competition.

We hosted a baby shower for my cousin's new baby boy!

Lilah lost a tooth, two, in fact!

Loving on fluffy Elsa.

Several days of sick, cuddly girls.

Summit Basketball

with half-time entertainment!

This girl had a semester of all A's!

We worked on art and science crafts.

We ended the month with 100 days of school!

First month thoughts...

So it has been a month at the new job and here have been some of the thoughts running through my mind.......

- I can't stop smiling.
- I enjoy (mostly) helping the kids with homework at night. One particular night I remember listening to Lilah read, and I was completely thrilled with it. I couldn't help but be thankful for the opportunity to really be present with her. My mind wasn't full of work that I was trying to rush through the evening to do's.
- I am the complete opposite to most people in my group. When you think of a tax accountant, I wouldn't guess my picture is there. Most of the people are highly introverted in my group. Let's just say I am shaking this department up!
- I am thrilled at the thought of being able to completely support Tim as a coach's wife. He sent me an email one week and said next week is going to be extremely busy with basketball. I didn't sigh thinking oh crap what are we going to do. I actually responded, "let me know how I can support you".
- It feels great thinking about something other than work!!!!
- Driving down town stopped being so bad by about week three. I started to find beauty in the sunrises and architecture.
- This place has zero idea what stress is.... People say they are stressed and they are still leaving at 4:30.
-

I know all the new will wear off. As I get more and more plugged into the work processes, stress will come. But I sure am enjoying the honeymoon!
