This year we had activities surrounding our anniversary, so we decided to just go on a quick weekend get away. Shangri-la's resort has been renovated so we decided to try out the new luxury resort. The opening weekend was the weekend before we were supposed to arrive. As we pulled up to the resort, it was apparent they weren't quite done. We walked in the lobby and 5 nervous high schoolers greeted us. It was apparent they were all training. Most of the lobby was completed but you could see they were missing accessories and some decorating. It still was pretty nice. We made our way up to the third floor. As we made our way down the hall to our room a man said um I don't think your room is ready. He was hanging all of the window treatments on the third floor. Our room had no window coverings at all and they still needed to clean the room. Tim went downstairs and they nicely moved us and told us the weekend was on them. Having a free weekend definitely made it easier to look past their construction projects.
We spent the weekend enjoying some kid free dinners, breakfast at the clubhouse, golfing, and renting a pontoon boat. We will definitely go back. It also had a fun pool that some girlies we know would really enjoy.
