A Party Weekend

I went crazy on Lilah birthday posts and then took a little break. So here is a weekend update from two weekends ago. It was a two birthday party Saturday that I actually remembered to take my nice camera and snap some pics! Saturday morning we went to a Pirate Swim Party for Mackenna's third birthday. Sara did an amazing job on decorations as usual. There was swimming, treasure digging, presents, and birthday pirate ship cake.

Then we went home for naps. Tim and I spent this time cleaning and decluttering our bedroom and laundry room. PARTY!!! After naps and cleaning, we went to Miss Charlotte Kate's 2nd birthday party. As usual Lisa and Josh cooked a fabulous BBQ dinner. There was lots of family, friends, water activities, BBQ, presents and Charlotte's present reveal, a playhouse!

The girls had so much fun playing with Charlotte's playhouse and sandbox that we went back to her house on Monday night for some more outside fun and leftovers.

Lilah's One Year Photo Shoot

After Lilah's party Saturday Addison went and spent the weekend with Tim's parents. So while she was away I set up a little photo studio in her bedroom. Lilah gave me about 10 mins total and that was spread out over 3 different times. Let's just say she is on the go and doesn't want to be held down. We still managed to get some pretty cute shots.

We have some pictures like this of Addison when she was one. I tried to recreate them with Lilah because we thought they were just so darn cute.

Lilah's First Birthday Party!!

Saturday we partied to celebrate Lilah's first birthday! We had the party in our church gym like we did for Addison's first birthday.

The theme was simple, purple and aqua colors. Purple is Lilah's signature color. From the moment I found out I was having a girl I always associated her with purple. We decorated with pennant name banners and a banner made of all of Lilah's monthly pictures. It was a morning party so we had brunch food of mini quiche, sausage balls, fruit and pinwheels. The cake was a cinnamon roll cake. It was a bit labor intensive, but totally worth it, super yummy!

One day I was picking up some tights for Addison in a dance supply store. There happened to be the perfect purple and aqua tutu frilly outfit. I knew it would be the perfect over the top birthday outfit. I put it on and it was a little big but oh well. You are only one once.

The church gym is the perfect spot for lots of people with plenty of room for kids to run around. Every time we get together with family and friends there are more and more little ones running around. The fun just keeps multiplying.

Trying to get a family photo is almost humorous. We are still at the stage where both girls never look or smile at the same time. Oh well at least we got a few.

We had lots of help opening presents. Addison, Madison, and Mackenna were happy to help open the presents.

I gave up trying to keep track. Thanks mom for figuring it all out for me.

Time for cake!!! The cute little pearls look cute, but we were afraid they would be a chocking hazard so we wiped them off the cake. You seemed to like the icing.

Happy birthday little lady! Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate. We love everyone and are so appreciative of their support and involvement in our little girl's life.
