Addison: First Day of Pre-3

Yesterday was Addison's first day of preschool. When Tim got his new job at a private school, we found out one of the perks was that our children could attend for free. So yesterday Addison started at the school and she was so excited!!!

We have been talking up big girl school for the entire summer now. Last week was her final week at Stacy's. I may or may not have shed several tears as she hugged and kissed Stacy goodbye last week. We have been so incredibly blessed to have someone care for our girls who loves them so much. I can't say enough nice things about Stacy. So happy Lilah is still staying with her and comforted to know that Addison can return for summers. Addison definitely has been excited about school but has also said she is going to miss Stacy. What a wonderful problem to have so many good people in my girl's lives.

Sunday night we snuggled into bed to read some books. For the occasion we picked some back to school books, specifically "The Kissing Hand". It is the cutest book ever for back to school. Monday morning she woke up so excited. I gave her special strawberry milk and we talked about how fun the day would be as I was helping her get ready for the day. Then we went outside to take the ever important "first day of school" photos.

Showing off her "kissing hands" momma gave her for the day.

"I am going to BIG GIRL SCHOOL!"

She was jumping up and down with excitement once she put her "packpack" on.

Off she went skipping into the building and bouncing up the stairs never showing an ounce of hesitation.

"Mom, I can do it myself"

She came home WIRED from her first day. When asked how her day was she responded with "I got in a little bit of trouble, but it's okay the boys got in a lot of trouble." Apparently she was wiggling during naptime. She also reported on lunchtime and she played with some girls. She did not play with any boys, but one boy was funny because he "cracked" his cookie. She also said the teacher sang Jesus Loves Me while they were cleaning up. That is about all I got out of her. When Tim picked her up she was on the playground playing with an icepack on her head. Apparently she got a bump the first day. Sounds about right for my drama/accident prone child. I am so excited she LOVED it and am excited for all of the things she will learn.

Beaver's Bend 2013

Two weekends ago we went on a fun weekend trip with some our dearest friends, Josh and Jill. Really they are practically family. No matter how long Jill and I have been apart we pick up as though we see each other daily. Their children, well they are the most beautiful, polite, little cuties ever. Barrett also got to get away with us for the weekend, so fun.

Thursday night we drove down to Jill's stomping grounds, near Beaver's Bend lake. It is beautiful, green, and relaxing. Of course when we go down there Jill's wonderful parents are willing to open their home to all of our crazy kids. Beth always has yummy food and makes us feel comfortable and at home. Friday we woke up and headed out for some fun in the sun on the lake. The men left early to place some golf, which was on the lake. We saw them on hole 16 and the kids got to wave hello to the dads. We tubed, skied, wake boarded, swam, and dodged some storms. It was so much fun. Both girls loved it.

(Daddy accidently took Lilah's car seat with him, so she got to use Addy's. She thought she was a big girl.)

After lots of lake time we went to eat at the Grateful Head, a local pizza joint.

(notice Addy's poor gums... The first 10 minutes we were there she and Jack were exploring/running. My graceful girl fell into a nightstand and scraped the gums up.)

Saturday morning I headed off to attend a funeral a few hours away. The drive was actually nice to have a few hours alone to think and enjoy the drive. Alone time rarely happens with two kiddos.

While I was away the rest of the crew enjoyed a giant inflatable pool, dirt bike, go cart, and a golf cart. When I got back I got to try out all of the motorized vehicles, let's just say Tim and I WANT a go cart, but might have to up our life insurance. Haha! We like to put the pedal to the medal and go wild.

That evening we ate dinner on the back deck and checked out some "stick walkers" as Addy called them.

Then headed to bed after a goodnight book from Uncle Josh.

Sunday we headed out for some more lake time.

Avery was in LOVE with Lilah. She is a little mommy! The whole weekend she was Lilah's babysitter. She ended up with $5!

It was such a fun weekend. We left wanting to make it a yearly trip. I can't wait to do it again.
