Celebrating Addison

This year Addy celebrated her birthday with a sleepover with a few of her friends. They had lots of fun! They played outside, ate Ravioli, decorated emoji cookies and under the sea cupcakes, drank hot chocolate, watched a movie, stayed up late, chalked each other's hair and finished off the party with a pancake bar. It was an excellent group of girls with no drama, lots of girl talk and laughs.

Happy Birthday Addy

 Addison,

Oh sweet girl! Your last year has been such a year of growth for you. You continue to grow and are becoming a beautiful young lady.

You are one smart cookie. You have a hard work ethic and do very well in school. You have drive and motivation to make all A's. This year you moved into the intermediate school. You love all of the new freedom you have gained. No more lining up to go to art or another activity.  You have your own computer. You are given more freedom to make decisions and work on group projects. This year you choose an elective, drama. So you have moved from the days of P.E., computers, and music. You also have a mini elective that changes every 6 weeks. You are currently creating a non-profit business plan to support a group in the community. Your team will present it to the principals and the winning team will get to carry out their plan to support their non-profit of choice throughout the Christmas season. You are learning so much about the world and responsibility in 5th grade.

Each year you seems to create a new circle of friends, depending on who is in your class and your activities. So you continue to hang around your basketball team for the most part. This year you have really become great friends with Brielle and Lilian. Mostly because we have chosen their families as part of our 2020 quarantine bubble. However, you and Brielle have really become quite inseparable. You two act just like sisters and have such a wonderful relationship.

Girlie, you made it. You are taller than your mama. You wear my shoes, and I don't think that will last much longer. You are growing like a weed. You have become a young woman and are becoming more beautiful everyday. You are beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside. You have such a soft heart. You stick up for others and don't want to do wrong to anyone. You are a light in the world and try to be kind to everyone.

Man this year has been quite a different year. After spring break this year, you finished your 4th grade year distance learning. You did an excellent job being flexible and responsible with the changes to your schooling. You took on the responsibilities and did a majority of your work on your own. You have handled all of the changes that this year has thrown at you with grace and positivity.

Addy, we love you so very much and just are thrilled we get to be part of your journey of life.

Love,

Mom

These Days: October 2020

October was a fun month as we moved into fall. Lilah played lots of soccer. She went to a horse riding birthday party for a friend. We went camping, took family pictures, and lots of school pick ups. We visited a pumpkin patch and loved on lots of animals. Lilah carved her own pumpkin and painted one for school as "Nibbles". The girls went on fall break with Nana and Uncle Matt to the Great Salt Plains. Addy continues horseriding. Jenny and I went to a wedding shower. And we all had a super fun Halloween.
