On Addison's actual birthday day we had a low key family day. We went to the aquarium and visited the fish and sharks. Then we hung out at home, opened presents and had breakfast for dinner.

Addison: Three Years!
Addison,
Happy birthday my beautiful, first born baby! Today you are three years old. My how the time flies. It feels like just yesterday we were bringing you home from the hospital, but today you are an independent toddler. You are moving more and more into the kiddo stages every day.
One of the biggest changes for you this year was becoming a big sister. Addison, you are the best big sister anyone could ask for. You genuinely love Lilah. The first week was a little rough, but after that you have just loved her so much. You get a kick out of making her smile and bringing her toys. A few weeks ago we started putting Lilah in her bumbo and you loaded up her tray with toys, giggling the entire time. You find so much joy in making her happy and smile. You are also so very helpful. You help get burp rags, bibs, toys and diapers. We also allow you to carry Lilah to one of us. You just go from the chair to the couch, but it makes you feel like such a big girl. It is also super cute to see. I pray that you continue to love your little sister as much as you do now and that your relationship grows into an amazing unbreakable bond.
Among your friends you are the leader of the pack. You love to be the mother hen. Ushering little ones to a desired location, toy or activity. You are also a sensitive little girl. Your feelings are easily hurt by others if they don't agree to some of your ushering or if someone speaks firmly to you. You are also sympathetic to others. If a friend or little one is crying you will offer them encouraging words or a toy. Not your toy, of course, but another comparable toy. I have heard you negotiating with your peers. Trying to convenience them when you are arguing over the same toy that the toy you are offering them instead is just as good. You don't seem to get physical with others your main reaction to conflict is to cry. Although I am sure there are the occasional toddler pushing or hitting. This is such a hard age for toddlers. Everyone is trying to learn how to communicate and interact with others. However, you truly are just a sweet girl. You are loving and kind.
You really enjoy playing with others. We can let you and your friends go play without the parents having to be very involved in the process. As much as you enjoy playing with your friends, you are also content playing with yourself. One day I walked into your bedroom and you had set up a scarecrow (your decoration as you call it) and were playing with a puzzle together. You have such a huge imagination little one. You make up all these grand stories when you are playing and talk with and to your dolls and animals.
You still love playing outside with your dogs. You so hilariously boss these poor doggies around and they actually listen to you. Ace will sit in the sandbox (ie spot for the pool) and just let you rub sand into his fur. You like to play chase and catch with them and love to feed them treats.
You continue to love music and dancing. You often come home to put on a tutu or your "tennis racket dress" (a leotard with a skirt) and some heels or dress up shoes and dance around the house. You love the movies Cinderella, Little Mermaid, and Tangled (Rapunzel). You are definitely in the Disney Princess phase. You toss your hair around like you are Rapunzel or will recount parts of the Disney movies.
You and your daddy have a special bond. Especially while I was pregnant you were very much a daddy's girl. He has such a soft spot for your precious little smile and sweet voice. You and he have donut Fridays. Often you wake up and ask if it is Friday. At least we are starting to learn days of the week, right? I also came home the other night to you and him dancing in the living room along to Dancing with the Stars. So sweet!
You and I have our special time usually on Saturday mornings. We will wake up before Lilah and daddy and have hot chocolate (coffee for me) in our special big girl mugs. We often will go out on the back porch and just hang out together watching the birds and dogs and chatting. You have also show a big interest in helping in the kitchen. You help put biscuits on pans, stir batters (ie lick spoons), frost(ie eat the frosting) cupcakes, crack eggs, make chicken salad or just watch on your special step stool. In the car you will yell out "Mom" then in the sweetest possible voice say "I Love You". I will respond I love you too and it will start all over again. Melt my heart.
You are speaking in paragraphs and are using more and more proper structure and grammar. The other day you said "Mom, I love both you and dad." In that moment I amazed me that you knew the term "both". It is the little words that you use properly that continually remind me how smart and grown up you are little one. Of course, you still have the special toddler words that are just too cute to correct.
Funny Addyisms:
- Plobably = Probably
- Sprinkle = Freckle
- Ladderday = Yesterday or the other day (not sure)
- bloon bloon = balloon
- Leader = Cheerleader
Addison, we love you more than you will ever know. The day you were born was one of the most amazing days of our life. You are so very special and know that God has wonderful plans for your life. We pray that we do the best we can to guide you, teach you, and make you feel loved everyday of your life. Happy Birthday!
Love you forever and always,
Mommy
This week I took you outside by my work for a "3 Year Old Photo Shoot". It was cold, you were sick, and it lasted about 5 minutes, but at least I captured you at 3 years old! Everyone loves a good ole' leaf hunt.

Lilah: Four Months
Lilah,
This month has been such a busy month. So many changes and you handled them all like a champ.
You weigh 12 pounds and 6 ounces and are 24 inches long. You have moved up to size 2 diapers. However, we still squeeze you in size 1 if we find them laying around. You are still wearing 0-3 and 3 month clothing.
The biggest change this month was mommy went back to work. So you started staying with Stacy during the day. It was really a pretty easy transition. I do miss you during the day, but I could not have asked for a better sitter. I am just thankful that we have one more person in our life to love and guide you. I also think you enjoy all the action watching your sister and her friends. I am thankful too that your cousin, Charlotte is with you. I know you three girls are going to have so much fun growing up together.
You seemed to have settled into more of a schedule now that you are at Stacy's. You are as happy as can be when you wake up, but you quickly go right back to sleep once we put you in the car to go see Stacy. Then you usually sleep until 10 o'clock. The rest of the day you will cat nap. Occasionally, you will take a big afternoon nap, but still not consistently. You are also inconsistent in your night time sleeping. I seem to remember you sister being the same way when I went back to work, and it taking a few weeks to get back to sleeping through the night. You have never quite mastered sleeping through the night though. You are still doing 2-3 nights in a row. Then you will wake up one or two times for 2-3 nights in a row. There seems to be no rhyme or reason, or at least I can't figure out what it is yet. Your daddy says I am spoiling you because if you wake up from the 3 am-5 am hours I just let you finish out the night in our bed. Still can't believe I allow that because I was totally against that with your sister. What can I say girl, you have your mommy wrapped around your little finger.
Now that you are taking a bottle several times a day I know how much you are eating. You consistently take 3 ounce bottles 3 times a day when you are at Stacy's. A few times you have taken 4 ounces, but you dropped back down to 3 after a few days. I will nurse you before you leave in the mornings, and you are still nursing 2-3 times in the evenings.
You continue to be a very happy baby. ALWAYS smiling and content to just hang out. Your "fussy" time would be in the evenings, but if your mommy is holding you you will be happy. Also, daddy has figured out that he can console you by watching TV together. LOL not sure who is happier with this one. You seem to calm right down and watch the lights and colors. Your sister loved the TV too. This is definitely a trait you got from your daddy!
You are really starting to use your hands with purpose. You started actually playing with the toys hanging from your gym. Also, if you are laying on a blanket you will pull it over your head. You will either suck on the blanket or your thumb with the blanket in your mouth. We pulled out some of Addy's old baby toys and you have started to grab and chew on them. We tried out the bumbo the other night. You seemed to sit up pretty well. Addison piled up your bumbo tray with toys and you were pretty content. Wow, you have really left the newborn stage and moved into a playful baby girl.
Highlights from this month....
- You have very good neck control. We call you turtle, because that's what you look like when you crane your bald little head around.
- Before mom went back to work you and I had a Barnes & Noble date. I love the calmness of book stores. I picked up a magazine and headed to the back. You laid on a blanket in the kids section and mom enjoyed a Soy Latte and some gossip news.
- We went to two pumpkin patches.
- We took church pictures and you did great!
- I also took you to a local portrait studio and took three month pics. Again you did great.
- You had your first big holiday, Halloween. You were a cute ballerina.
- Learned to blow raspberries, so CUTE!
- You have laughed a couple of times, but not often. You still smile with your whole body though. It looks like you are going to laugh but nothing comes out.
Little Lilah we love you very much. You are such a bright spot in our family precious girl!

Mommy
