Lilah Birthday Celebrations

Your special day started with a treasure hunt for your gifts. Your sister had so much fun they night before hiding all of your gifts and creating all of the clues. We had lots of cakes, donuts, cupcakes, ice cream cake. Basically a full day of sweets for our sweet girl. You had three sweet girls come over for a fun swim party and you even created a pin the tail on the donkey game. We ended the night with our traditional reading of  Love You Forever and a birthday rocking.

My little cuddle bug! Lilah, wow, this has been quite the year for you. 2020 is shaping up to be a year to remember. You started 1st grade at school with Miss Fine and finished up the school year with your parents as your teachers. You have loved quarantine life. You love being at home with your family and are not excited about the school year as it is nearing. A few things I have loved about you during this time are all the extra cuddles. You start the mornings greeting me during my quiet time with a blanket and a cuddle session. It's so cute how you still curl up in a little ball and scoot as close as you can to me. Throughout the day you will come see me at work ("upstairs") and give me a squeeze. Sometimes I will be on a video call and you will say...."Can you turn off your camera, so I can cuddle?" Oh your cuddles melt my heart. One of my favorite things about you. 

Lilah, you are filled with excitement for life. When you do something you are all in. You sing with your whole body. You cheer with every ounce of your being. You can also be as mad a hornet. Your emotions aren't really laid back and even keeled. With everything, it is with much intensity. It's funny because your first years in life you seemed very laid back. And as you have grown into your personality all of your actions and emotions are more intense. If you are fishing, you are all about fishing. Daddy took you to play golf, and he said you were much more focused on the task than your sister. Words to describe you would be focused, LOUD, decisive, determined, strong-willed and passionate.

Something that has not changed from your early years is your mothering abilities. You mother and love on all creatures cats, babies, barbies, younger children, and made up friends. This year about a month before your birthday, you suddenly decided you were done with babies. You said, "I am now into Barbies". You then proceeded to take out all of the babies items from your room, to which I said you can't get rid of them all. You did however give away probably 75% of your baby items (see very decisive). You did move more into the Barbie toys, but I still see you with a baby on your hip, bouncing it as you walk through the house. Also, we got a new kitten this summer, Dutchess, and that kitten has  bounced on your hip, taken baby carriage rides, and loved on just as she were a baby. It is so cute to see this soft side of you. Because more often these days you are just a ball of fire. 

 Sweet girl, we love you so very much!  You are wonderful, spicy, goofy and just plain fun to be around. Happy birthday!

This year for your photos you wanted to have a prop. These are puff balls that hung in your nursery and we finally removed them from the ceiling this week. I love your creativity and fun in these pics.

Summer was in full force in June. June included camping, our anniversary, lots of pool time, new kitties, sno cones, cousin time, fun with friends, the Summit Gala, working from home, and lots of outside time.
