Addison: 2.5 Years!

Addison,

Today you are two and a half. Wow little one, time is flying by. It seems like you are still growing and changing weekly.

Right now your imagination is just exploding. Lately you have really been into playing cowboy. You ride around on your horsey (a small broom) and use your "roe" (rope) to "catch the cows". You also will drag a stuffed animal, usually Romo, around by your rope. If Romo isn't dragging behind fast enough or gets caught up, you try to coax him along saying "come on Romo" or "come on boy".

You also like to pretend you are a dog. You make us tell you to sit, spin around, fetch, and speak. You also like to lick and pant like a dog. I must say it is a little silly, but you seem to love dogs. In fact, lots of time when we get home you want to go see "my dogs". You are big enough now we let you play with them. You boss them around and play chase.

You still love to dance, sing and perform. Recently, you have been dancing to your Leapfrog player, which consists of a few songs and the letters of the alphabet. You press the button then yell out from deep in your belly "ready to dance girls". It is so cute when you start dancing you look around to make sure we are paying attention. Once we make eye contact you grin really big and start to dance around. Your dancing usually consists of galloping in a circle, especially around the coffee table, spinning in a circle, shaking your little booty, or a new interpretive style where you stand mostly still and slowly move your arms about following them with your eyes.

You are talking more in paragraphs than sentences. You will tell us stories of your day or of days past. You are also yelling and shouting. You have learned that you get a lot of volume by using your diaphram. You breathe in then yell out whatever you are trying to say. You will be a good cheerleader someday. Phrase often yelled are "Ride'em Cowboys", "Yee-Haw", "I can stomp my feet", "Ready to dance girls", and "Go Pokes!"

You really are into sports lately. Lots of baseball, probably because you have watched Daddy's team some this spring and you have gone to a few of his softball games. Also, the neighbor boys have a tee that you get to play with sometimes. You aren't too bad. Also, you love to throw the football, and Dad has been teaching you golf. He makes sure you hold the club just right. Finally, we were at Buffalo Wild Wings the other day and you pointed out hockey to us. We have no clue where you learned that one because we have never watched it or talked to you about it. So it seems you have a bit of a love for sports in your blood.

Lots of Randoms about you....
-You still like to make lists and take our lunch orders.
-You recently have been requesting peanut butter sandwiches a lot.
-You still play with your dolls and stuffed animals. You have to tend to them often because they are crying.
-You still love to wear your little mermaid heels. You even wore them to Stacy's one day recently. It's hard to argue in the mornings when I am running around like crazy anyway.
-You whisper "a secret" in our ear.
-You love to play with dirt and rocks.
-You have become obsessed with being a T-Rex. In the mornings, I coax you to open your mouth by having you show me your T-Rex teeth.
-Potty training is still a work in progress. Usually only one accident a day, but some days no accidents.
-The other day you told me you were going to see your "Best Friend Charlotte".
-You have become quite the fish in our pool.
-You know your old room is Lilah's room, and tell us that it is messy. We know little one, mama is just slow to get stuff together for this little one.
-We have cleaned up your sisters room and have rocked you a few times in the rocker. Oh, it brings back so many fond memories. You rock better with your Daddy. He doesn't have the bump I have hindering your relaxation.
- Sometimes you walk around with my back/belly brace on and say "Oh Lilah is so heavy!"
-You had us make a box into a robot for you. We have no clue where you come up with this stuff.
-You have learned to turn on your DvD player in your Daddy's headrest with your foot. You will take off your shoe and press the button with your toe.
-You know our meal time prayer and like to say it by yourself. However, it is a little hard to understand.
-Your favorite bedtime songs are still Jesus Loves Me, Twinkle Twinkle, and Snuggle Puppy.
-The other day you said, "Mom do you have your phone with ya? Can I watch George?" I was so surprised at how grown up you sounded.

Addison, you are such a bright spot in our life. We love you to pieces!

Love,
Mommy
