It's been three wonderful months since you have made us a happy family of four. You have made us all so happy and we love you very much. I just love saying "my girls". You made that happen. This month you are moving more and more away from the newborn phase. No, stay little forever!!!!
You weigh 12 pounds and are 23" long. You are still in size 1 diapers, but I think it won't be for much longer. You are also still in 0-3 month or 3 month clothing.
You are still eating approximately every 2-3 hours, but to be honest I am not super scheduled with you. If you do your hungry cry I feed you, or if it has been about 2-3 hours I feed you. You are so laid back I think it has rubbed off on me. Since I have stopped most dairy your little tummy is back to normal. Luckily you have a very mild case of a milk protein allergy, so I can have some milk every now and again. I am guessing you are drinking about 3 ounces, but not really sure. The few times we have given you a bottle we have given you 3 ounces and you drink most or all of it. We should find this out next month when you go to Stacy's.
One thing about you that is still much like a newborn is you still seem to sleep a lot. Your sister never slept this much from day one. You will sleep most of the morning if I let you, and sleep on and off during the afternoon. Again, we have thrown schedules out the window, so there is no actual nap time. I am thinking Stacy will also change this, which will be awesome. We have just been on the go go go, and you just seem to go with the flow. You are sleeping through the night probably a little more than half of the time. You seem to do several days in a row of sleeping through the night then several nights of waking up once around 2ish. When you sleep you either have your arms sprawled out, or on your side (usually left) sucking the left thumb and holding it there with your right hand.
Although you are a wonderful sleeper, you have become more active this month too. You will lay on your mat a kick, coo, and smile away. We have added some toys to the activity mat and on the bouncer that hang above you. You will check them out, but have not quite batted at them purposefully. You will lay on your mat, in your bouncer or in someones lap and talk up a storm. Oh the stories you tell us. All of them are filled with gummy, adorable grins. You haven't laughed yet, but you are so close. When you smile really big your whole body smiles with you. You seem to use every muscle in your body. You want to laugh but just not sure how to just yet. I can't wait. I know it will be so precious.
Other highlights from this month...
- You went on your first out of state trip. We visited your Great Aunt Tricia in Kansas.
- While in Kansas, you found your lungs. You now will go from happy to loud and very unhappy if you are hungry or if you just want your mama. You are usually hungry.
- You will lay on your belly for short periods of time, but aren't a huge fan. Still prefer your back.
- You have gained a lot of neck control this month. You look like a little turtle craning your head around.
- You like to stand and look around at the world around you.
- You still spit up a lot. Tons of burp rags in this house, and I always seem to have a wet shoulder. ;)
- You love the moby wrap and we have used it in tons of places this month, football and softball games, grocery stores, a ranch, and the zoo.
- This month has been filled with changing temperatures. We began with final summer swims and are ending the month breaking out the jeans and jackets.
- We tried one more attempt at a paci, but you spit it out and put your thumb in your mouth. So we passed them on to your new little cousin Olivia.
- I admit that the thumbsucking is the cutest thing ever, so we are just embracing it.
Lilah, thank you for adding such joy and contentment in our life. The days are flying by too fast, but I am enjoying every second I get to spend with you baby girl. We thank God for blessing our lives with you. We love you.
Love you forever and always,
Mommy
