Last week Tim had his annual guy only ski trip. I must admit I was pretty darn nervous about my partner leaving me with two crazy girls. Tim is amazing when it comes to helping with domestic duties, especially mornings. I am slow to wake up and take much longer to get ready than he does, so he does a lot of the getting the girls ready in the morning. Also, Monday before he left I had taken Lilah to the doctor because I was just sure she had an ear infection, that just had to be the reason she was waking up in the middle of the night. Tim refused to take her because he said the only reason she was crying was because she wants a pillow top mattress and to sleep in our bed. Well, let's just say I made the doctor double check her diagnosis because "spoiled" was not what I wanted to hear. So Monday night we started sleep training (ie "cry it out"). It was awful. She cried for an hour and a half. So needless to say I was pretty nervous about my husbands departure. Oh yeah, work is insane right now! So off he went skipping with his friends to the snow covered mountains of Colorado. (Addy called it college. LOL) I pulled up my big girl panties determined to kick the weeks tail. I must say that it went pretty well. Throughout the work week I worked, picked up the girls, and did all our night time duties. Lilah slept one night then didn't the next. She is on an every other pattern. Addison added to the fun one night and peed the bed (pull-ups, were utilized the rest of the week). I felt I deserved a giant Starbucks every morning. For the most part the week went great and I was on-time to work everyday! On the weekend I decided we needed a fun mom/girls activity. It may or may not have been to help tire out my wee ones so that I could work during nap time. So off to the aquarium we headed. A Chick-fil-a breakfast stop on the way and a McDonald's stop on the way home (the weekend was a bust on mom cooking, but I did cook through out the week!). I just let Addison lead us through the aquarium even the shark tank 5 times. (Which she kept saying she was scared of but some how we kept ending up there). Addison did get a treat for being good, a lollipop (at first she wanted a unicorn, then spied something sweet). After naps/work we ventured to Wal-Mart. It was Lilah's first time to ride in the cart sans the infant carrier. Both girls were good thanks to chew toys and Addy's Cinderella on my phone (she is addicted!). That evening we watched Rapunzel and even made it to church the next day. I was pretty tired when Tim finally made it home the next day, and we were all so glad he had fun and made it home safely. All in all it was a great week and I am thankful I got to spend time with my girls. However, I am so thankful I have an awesome husband to help me raise our princesses.
Here are some pictures from our adventures....
