Lilah: 2 Years Old

Lilah,

Happy birthday my beautiful baby girl!

You are such a sweet, cuddly angel. You give the sweetest kisses and the best hugs. You completely adore your big sister. You two have such a special, sweet relationship. You just watch and mimic her every move. You want to be by her and be just like her. If she is sitting down showing us one of her many tricks or playing with a toy or baby, you will sit right by her, exactly like her and try to be just like her. It is adorable to watch your relationship. At night you will give her big kisses and wish her night night. You are more excited to give her love than your daddy or I. Addison is so protective of you too. She loves you just as much as you love her.

You recently started saying "love you". It's sweet music to my ears. I waited so long for you to start talking. I told your daddy around Mother's Day, I just want her to say "love you" so bad. He worked with you one evening, until finally you got it. Speaking of talking, you are saying more and more words every day. You are much quieter than your sister, but you are busy observing or sucking on that thumb of yours. I believe you know how to speak more than you let on. If others are noticing you talk or we try to get you to tell someone something you immediately get shy and purse your lips together. You give us a coy, little smile, and there will be no talking coming from your lips. You mostly say one word at a time, but have recently put a couple words together. No sentences yet, but it will come with time.

You are a goofy little lady. Addison was always a fairly serious girl. You my girl, giggle and laugh so much of the time. The smallest things make you laugh and you love to be goofy and make everyone laugh. It is adorable to watch. I am much more like Addy, serious. To see you loving life is such a blessing. It reminds me to laugh and smile more often.

Lilah you are such a little lady. We haven't gone to the doctor yet for your official stats, but you are so petite. You may be little, but you are still my tough little girl. Not much seems to phase you. You will fall down or bang into something and just keep going as nothing ever happened. You will jump off your little chair onto your bottom and just giggle. You are a little dare devil. Lately you like to climb up into your play gym with a broom in hand. Then sometimes I will look out and you are hanging your head over the side trying to talk to your sister underneath in the sandbox. It scares me, but you are unphased. I tell your daddy, that you are his hope when it comes to sports.

Although you are a tough one, you have the tenderest of hearts. You love to mother kittens, babies, stuffed animals, or any other animals we meet. You will rock and sing to your little babies. Cover them up for sleeping and hush us all. The other day you were "babying" a gummy bear. It was hilarious. You were just rocking it in your arms and singing to it.

Lilah we love you so very much. We thank God that you are such a special part of our lives. Happy birthday my little Li!

Love you forever and always,
Mommy
