A Day in the Life: February 3, 2015

So this day happened weeks ago at this point. And the day was so very busy that I didn't take a ton of pictures, but I told myself I was going to document it so here it goes. From what I remember....

Alarm 4:20, out the door for the gym by 4:45. Half the time when I get home from the gym everyone is asleep. The other half they are in my bed watching cartoons. Today Lilah was running around showing off her silkie.

This one was watching cartoons in our bed.

The morning hair style was a braid and a headband. I don't argue anymore.
 A quick breakfast to go.

Daddy gave her some colored water. She felt like a big girl.

Addy had a dentist appointment so she was pretty excited to have a morning with mom.

This time at the dentist went much better than last time. She actually let them take her x-rays and let the doctor look at her teeth. She didn't actually say a word to him, but I did not have to hold her down, nor did she shed a tear.

We got bad news. She had a cavity. He said we should be flossing, arggg really. I felt like the most horrible parent ever and it was all I could do to not cry. What do you do when you find out you have a cavity?!? Well go to Starbucks of course! I had actually used it as a bribe to get her to the dentist. (Side note: since getting her cavity filled, she proudly announces her dentist office as we pass it). While at Starbucks I text my sisters and beg for them to tell me I am not a bad mom.

After taking Addy back to school where she proudly showed everyone a picture of her teeth, it was off to work for me.

After work I raced to the school to pick up the girls. Tuesdays is dance and this time of year basketball game night. I totally spaced on taking a picture of dance class. But it looks like this. Addy goes into class with four cute little girls. It is so nice that it is small. All of their names start with "A" and there are two Addisons. Lilah and I sit in the waiting room with the moms and the other Addison has twin sisters Lilah's age. This particular day they all take turns playing the drawing game on Addy's leappad. Sometimes they run around like wild animals, sometimes they throw fits because they are tired and hungry. Sometimes they play ring around the rosie. You never know how it is going to go, but it is usually pretty loud. Fun fact: this family with the other Addison and twin girls used to be our neighbors at our old house. It was neat to walk into class at the beginning of the year and see them again.
I forgot to take a picture so here is one from December.

After class we did a quick wardrobe change in the car. Lilah is typically a wreck from lunch. Then it was off to Daddy's game. We have a pretty good system going for bball games. We start off eating dinner, then some running around. Once the boys varsity game starts we head for the stands after chatting up the cheerleaders. Then the first half the girls can color, play, talk with friends, "watch" the game. Addy has lots of friends. She is my outgoing child. She will sit with the highschoolers for a bit. Sometimes there are girls from her school that will come to the game. She has talked one of the cheerleader's mom's to bring her fruit snacks and sour patch kids to the game. At one tournament she went throughout our entire crowd and had everyone write their name in her notebook. At first she was also requesting phone numbers, but I made her stop that. I mean some of these people weren't even with our school. She is meant for fundraising or politics! Watch out when she sales girl scout cookies or candy bars.

Anyway, at half time we visit the bathroom, say hi to cheerleaders and run a few laps. After half-time I let the girls watch movies on the phone or play on their devices. By that time the are really tired and I am really into the game. After the game Lilah gets changed into pj's. We wait for Daddy to come out of the locker room and recently have been helping with the balls.

Lilah loves taking pictures.

We usually get home by 9:30 and it's off to bed as soon as possible. That's a busier day during our week or at least as much of it as I remembered and took pictures of.
