On Monday we all spent the day at the house acclimating to the altitude. I spent most of the day in my room getting work done. The kids spent lots of time in the backyard and later in the afternoon everyone went sledding.
Tuesday was another day around the house for the kids. Tim, Barrett and Darrin hit the slopes. There were lots of arts, crafts, books and games for the kids. The kids all got along so great. Even the last day Amber and I were shocked that we didn't have one disagreement between any of them. Addy and Lincoln were buddies and Lilah and Corbin played together. Lilah also spent a lot of time mothering Ella. She would keep that girl if she could. The kiddos also got their gear this day.
Wednesday was the big ski day for the kids. We dropped the kids of first thing at ski school. Then the adults hit the slopes. That evening my brother, Ken and his wife, Ande came to eat dinner and see the kids. It has been way too long since we saw them.
Thursday was another ski day for everyone. This time my Dad and Elizabeth went with us and none of the kids were in ski school. We spent the morning on the bunny slope. Addison took to it pretty well. Lilah wasn't bad she just didn't have any sort of stopping down. After lunch we decided to brave going up the mountain. Addison was great. We bought a harness so Lilah couldn't get out of control and get away from us. But she felt more comfortable holding Tim and my hand. So we did some pretty serious snow plowing down the mountain then decided it would be best for Lilah to stick to the bunny slope. So we took turns going up the mountain with Addy.
Friday was another dad ski day. Lincoln and Addy were pretty disappointed. Both of them were ready for the next level of skiing. But we had some fun still at a little children's museum in Breckenridge. We spent the morning there then the afternoon packing and lazying around the house to get ready for an early departure the next day.
I am so glad I decided to take the plunge and take spring break off. Being at the house in Colorado, I was still able to get work done and attend to any issues that came up. I was also able to enjoy my kids. We definitely decided to try to make this a yearly trip. This is also the second trip with the Moden family. I think we found our travel buddies!
