On our last day in Branson Tim went to go play golf with my dad. He just happened to be there at the same time we were. So Addison and I got to go on a little mommy and me outing. Of course every mommy and me outing must start out with a trip to Starbucks. I handed my little princess a vanilla bean scone, and off we went. Well we got to our location and holy moly. She had somehow managed to crumble that little scone into one million pieces (She is definitely related to her uncle Matthew).
I figured I needed a better plan for the oatmeal. So we sat outside our car on a rock wall with the proper precautions, a bib and wipes, in place.
Then we headed in to the Butterfly Palace. Oh it was so much fun! You get to go into a room with tons of butterflies flying around.
We had to make sure we had the proper hats for the occasion.
I told Addy she had to be quiet in order to see a butterfly.
I also told her if she stood real still and held out her arm maybe one would land on her. She kept walking around saying "Mere butterfly" and throwing her arm out.
They had a couple birds in there too (boo!). This one seemed nice enough. It was so pretty so I snapped a quick pic. Moments later its stupid friend came darting straight at us (or at least that is what it felt like). I hit the deck, nearly dropping my precious baby. We then moved on to a less birdy spot.
We decided to try to look at things a little closer. Or as Tim said, it looked like we were trying to burn leaves.
Her favorite thing by far at the butterfly palace was the turtles! She talked about that forever!
I had such a wonderful time with my little girl. I always treasure the little adventures and time we get to share together. On the way out we purchased a butterfly ornament to remember our adventure by.
For lunch we headed over to Branson Landing to meet up with Gammy and her family.
Great Gammy gave her a pumpkin, which was pretty much all that little one would eat.
On the way out she spotted someone else's firetruck stroller and took it for a spin.
This was such a fun first vacation for our family of three. It was relaxing and we had such a wonderful time together. Even though we did a lot of fun activities and saw some neat sights, my most favorite memory will be seeing Addison when we first got to the villa. She had so much excitement in her eyes getting to explore everything. She especially loved the bucket of golf balls (we picked them up several times a day) and the numerous un-child-locked drawers and doors. I remember whenever we were little and we would go on family vacations. As soon as we would get to the hotel we would go exploring. We would scout out the ice machines, pool, vending machines, and just check everything out. Seeing Addison's look of excitement brought back so many fond memories of my childhood. I feel so blessed that we were able to share some fun times with our little one. (Thanks, Grandma and Grandpa for letting us borrow your place.)
