The Chaos has Multiplied

Brook, Melissa, and I all were pregnant together the first time around, so it was only fitting we had our second little ones about the same time two. Two weeks after I had Lilah, the Scott family came up for a visit. We planned several get togethers with the "quad" so that we could squeeze as much fun/chaos in the few days they were here. Sunday evening was our first get together. Let's just say adding three more babies to the mix made things a little crazy. The first 30 mins while we were saying our hellos, hugging, ooohing and aaahing over each others baby, I kid you not someone was crying. It was like they were playing musical cry babies. I think the two year olds had their turn too, but was more like whining or claiming their toy stakes. Finally all the hellos were over, so we decided to make the little ones happy and feed them. So off we go to nurse. Brook, Melissa and I just laughed and said "my how things have changed". I don't think I can really describe the chaos. Two year olds in and out of the "nursing room", babies nursing, babies getting changed, mom's telling two year olds to share or give stolen toys back, mom's laughing at the chaos, dads covering their eyes to come get a crying two year old out of the "nursing room" and the list could go on. It was chaos, but a wonderful chaos. At least we are all in it together. This is when we decided we had to try to get one picture of all the kids before we forgot or someone had a complete meltdown. It actually went pretty good. We have all learned that with this age you have to move fast. So kiddos were thrown on the couch in age order and moms snapped like crazy while dads acted like yahoos trying to get the kids to smile/look in our direction. I wish we had a video of this. :)

So after babies were fed and pictures were snapped, we all ate and the big kids (what? we have big kids now, crazy?!?!) were off to the pool with the dads. The house was pretty quiet. The moms sat, nursed, and tried to make complete, coherent sentences. (Side Note: Put moms in a room together that have just had babies, the conversations are really exciting let me tell you. At some points we are just staring at each other saying, I forgot what we were talking about.) Apparently at the pool the girls had a ton of fun. The dads had even more fun playing pool football, which word on the street is that my husband dominated! Go hubby After the pool the dads continued to wear out the big kids with soccer in the backyard, which of course you play in your pajamas.

The next day we hosted at our house. We had sandwiches and the girls played on the slip and slide. It was so incredibly HOT outside and the girls were extremely whiny. I am pretty sure they were still worn out from the night before. To tell you the truth everyone was pretty tired, but it was still fun to be with each other.

The last day Melissa,  Brook, and I went to lunch and took our babies. It was funny trying to fit in three big infant seats at a table. The babies took up so much room. We were squished on one end of the table. We had some wonderful sushi and were able to talk in peace. All three of the little ones slept the entire time.

Even though the few days with our friends were filled with chaos, it was such a fun time. This is our life now, fun chaos and I wouldn't trade it!
