Sandwiched in between family events, was Christmas Eve and Day. Once Addy was old enough to begin to understand the whole Santa thing, we requested to be home on Christmas morning. We start all of our little family Christmas on Christmas Eve. We went to the Children's service at the church. The pastor's family acts out parts of the Christmas story. Eventually we will go to a more traditional service, but this one is really great for us right now.
Lilah was scared of the wisemen so she ended up on Tim's lap.
They each wanted a turn holding baby Jesus after.
We went home and decorated our cookies for Santa.
Addy placed them out before bed and then put Mary, Joseph and Jesus by them. She said she wanted to remind Santa about the true spirit of Christmas.
Santa came.
Both girls woke up super early, 5:30. It was still dark out and Addy said she couldn't tell if Santa had come. We made them sleep in our bed a little while longer. Addy said she was going to try to listen for Santa. She ended up falling back asleep until 6:30ish. I, however, can never go back to sleep once they jump in bed with us in the morning. We made them stay in our bed until we could set up the video camera. They both loved their Santa gifts. I forgot to take any pictures during the present opening. It's on video though.
The after math
While I was cooking breakfast quiche and lunch, the girls played with their gifts and cuddled with dad on the couch.
They were pretending this was an airplane.
My girly girl and her nails.
Fixing up Barrett's hair
After the Kellner Christmas, we had a picnic dinner and watched Christmas movies with Barrett, Blake and Jenny.
Then later that night Jenny and I whipped Blake and Tim in spades!
