Lilah has been using the potty for a couple months now. When I say using the potty, I mean occasionally peeing in the potty. There has not been any consistency, nor have we pushed anything. In fact, I was actually holding off. I did not want to be potty training during basketball season. So we held off but encouraged potty usage. And the first weekend of spring break we broke out the panties and pull-ups and started the path of being diaper free. With Addison, we had no idea what we were doing. Day 1 we introduced her to the potty and some how expected her to know what to do. Needless to say Addison's potty training adventures were long. As in most things our approach with Lilah is so much more laid back. Allowing her to use the potty casually for a few months actually worked to our benefit. She already knew what to do. So when we switched to panties there has really been a small amount of accidents. It was really pretty easy. Even while traveling to visit Tim's family, attending the zoo, and parties she has done pretty good. When she went back to school we used pull-ups to avoid messes. I wasn't sure how she would do. Week one she had a poopy accident nearly everyday either on the playground or during nap. However, week two she started using the potty for that as well. I think one more week of pull-ups and we will move to panties all day long. For night time we use diaper (until we run out) or pull-ups. I really don't want to change sheets in the middle of the night. Most of the time she wakes up dry, but still sleep is more important to me than a couple more months of diapers/pull ups. I am proud of my little lady. She is growing up, which also lead me to a small break down in the diaper aisle of SAMs. The thought of never buying baby things is sad. Those things are just so fun to buy. I even loved buying diapers. But they have to grow up so trying to just enjoy every step and not wish for the future or long for the past.
Aren't these little panties adorable?

My taggie loving thumb sucker discovered there was a tag in the back.
Oh Lilah you are a mess. How will we ever get rid of that thumb?!?
