Cape cod

This year our big trip was a family vacation to Cape Cod. We went with Tim's dad's family. We went to a resort that his Grandmother visited nearly every year. Her wish was for her ashes to be spread in the ocean at that resort. So we all traveled to the Cape to pay our respects to GiGi and have a wonderful week together as a family.

We drove to Indiana and Tim's dad rented an RV for the rest of the trip. The RV was so much fun. The kids loved it and it helped break up the 30 hour trip. I have now visited more truck stops than ever and checked off sleeping at one from my bucket list (haha). It was definitely a fun way to pass the time.

As we were preparing for the trip I asked what sorts of activities will we be doing. The response I got was well on vacation we just like to relax and hang out. WHAT?!?! No activities. I come from a family that has planned activities at nearly every gathering and on vacation I'm pretty sure relaxing is not any of the activities. I may or may not have panicked. I texted my sister's I need some books to read or something to do while we relax. Turns out relaxing wasn't so bad. Plus with kids there really isn't any real relaxing time. I did read two books though. We had so much fun. We swam, played at on the beach, went shopping, out to dinner, Tim and I visited a winery, lots of beach walking and shell finding, and just spent lots of quality time with some folks we don't see much. It was an amazing vacation!
