Addison is 10!

Addison,
You are double digits, what an exciting new age! You are definitely in the tween category now. This past year you have grown up so much!

You have the softest heart and truly love everyone. You will help the kids at school needing help or needing someone to stick up for them. It hurts you for others to hurt. You are very aware when you have made a mistake and will often apologize at night when in bed. You have a high awareness of others feelings and emotions.

This past year you have been more emotional and dramatic. You seem to just have all the feelings. I think you have so many hormones and are trying to navigate so many new emotions and life lessons at school. Fourth grade has proven to be a whole new world. All of you are trying to be more grown up, but just not sure how to go about it. Your class is also mostly girls, so there has been more girl drama this year. You have mainly stayed out of it, but because you seem to be friends with lots of kids and switch up friends weekly you sometimes get caught up in the drama. These days are good practice for choosing right and wrong. You are learning how to deal with girlfriend dynamics, and for the most part doing very well.

Academically, you are doing great. Your favorite subjects seem to be History and Science. You have done great learning cursive this year. Math maybe the most difficult for you, which is funny since your dad and I are strong in math. Overall, you do very well with little effort. The teachers say you are a very good girl.

You added some new activities this year to your after school life. You and Lilah decided no competitive cheer for a year. It was time to try something new. So this summer you took up golf and horse riding. You are still doing basketball and are already way better than your mama ever was. You are fast and always win the running drills. You have a hard time choosing a favorite between basketball and horse riding. You have asked to try softball in the spring. We will see if it fits into our schedule.

Your relationship with Lilah is still strong. Although, you started fighting a bit more this summer. I think it was all of the together time. However, when asked if you want to have your own room, you say no. You say Lilah's breathing (she's loud) at night makes you sleep. You said you may have to record it when you have your own room. I am pushing for you to share as long as possible. I think the lessons of sharing a room is very valuable. I also love that even though you are supposed to be sleeping you two share special sister secrets and time together. You tell me that everyday at school when you see Lilah she runs to hug you. She truly adores you. She watches your every move and tries to imitate everything you do. When you two do fight, you are usually the one that apologizes first. You are the voice of reason against Lilah's fiery personality.

A few other tid bits
- You are an animal lover
- You have learned my organizing skill and have become quite the organizer
- You are shy in a big crowd at first, but will warm up once you find a friend or two. Then you are the leader of the pack.
- Your love language is quality time.
- You beam when you talk about horses.
- You are mostly a serious child, but have little bouts of goofy. Usually, these goofy moments come when you are with your sister or friends.
- You love mayonnaise.
- You have really gotten into Legos this past year. You can easily spend an hour building.
- You love pasta, sushi, and mashed potatoes.
- We started allowing you to ride your bike around the neighborhood by yourself.  You love the freedom.
- You are a mama's girl.

Addison, you are truly a gift from God. I just love everything about you and couldn't have asked for a better big sister and daughter. I love watching you grow and pray I can be the mom that is exactly what you need. I love you so very much!

Mom

Addy's photoshoot was so much fun. Of course, the day we picked was packed at the park and she didn't get to do all of the poses she had planned. But we got lots of good ones. I just love this beautiful girl and her fun personality. She just looks so darn old in these pictures. What a beauty!
