Backyard Camping

The first weekend in May we decided we would give camping a try. Tim and I both camped as kids and we wanted to share this with our girls. We borrowed a tent and thought the backyard would be a great place to try it out. With a newly potty trained toddler and the uncertainty of if we would all last through the night, we wanted to stay close to home. We set up a tent, chairs and our fire pit. We had the typical hot dogs and s'mores with special orange cola for the girls. Tim and Addison were going to sleep under the stars, but when we noticed the dew before we even went to bed we decided to all snuggle in the tent together. The neighbor girls came over for s'mores and to read the girls books from their book fair. Addison told us ghost stories and Aunt Jenny and Uncle Blake stopped by for some campfire fun. We made it the whole night in the tent with only one interruption. At 3:00 am the dogs would not stop barking so I told Tim he had to go investigate. It's was a coyote that ran off as soon as he saw Tim. So see who needs the wild we have it in our own backyard! We are already planning another camping adventure, but we need to upgrade the tent first!
