Addison,
Holy moly,
you are seven! You have become my little helper. Every year I comment just how
big you have gotten. But it is always true and amazes me how much each year you
change and grow up just a little more.
One of the
bigger milestones for the year was that you started reading to your sister. We
have started having a few minutes of reading time in your bed with just you and
your sister. You will sit and read to her. It is sweet to listen to you two
together. I just love how you are such an amazing sister and best friend to
Lilah.
You are
thriving in first grade. You were disappointed at first because your buddies
were in the other class, but this class has been perfect for you. You teacher
comments that you are a rule follower and the class helper. You regularly earn honorable
character points for displaying good behavior in class. You usually get accolades
for displaying obedience, self-control, cooperation, and responsibility. This
is your first year of grades and you are getting all A’s. You excel at spelling
and so far have a 100% on all of your tests. You started the year a bit
frustrated with reading, but have recently just taken off and become more
confident. . As I mentioned earlier you have found joy in reading to Lilah.
In
comparison to last year you really enjoy before and after care. You really like Ms. Alyssa, so I think that makes a huge difference. On Monday
afternoons you take Art. You love to draw and color and really anything to do
with art. This class is a drawing class and it is so cool to see what you can
create!
You cheered
again this year and were really good. Last year you were a bit soft and
spaghetti arms. This year your moves were crisp and you were helping teach the
cheers to the squad.
The newest
activity you have started is girl scouts. You are loving it. We went on our
first camp out and it was such a fun time. You are learning so much and
absolutely love all of the things you get to do. Soon you have a sleepover at
the aquarium and you are so excited.
At seven you
sometimes show signs of 13, with only an attitude that a teenager can possess.
But honey you are so quick to change your tune. You are easily corrected and
show such remorse for acting out. A few minutes in your room and you realize that
you should apologize or obey. You are also quick to apologize to your sister.
You two rarely fight. But when you are forced to work something out, you are
always the sister to start to smooth things over. Your apologies are genuine,
and you truly never want to hurt anyone. You have the softest, most caring
heart. I hope you always possess the same kindness for others you have today.
I often
remind you to show God’s love. Especially when dealing with a difficult
classmate or situation. I wish I was as good at this as you are. You are
quickly learning at a young age what it means to care for and pray for others.
I learn so much from you on how to be a more caring person.
Addison, I
am forever thankful I get to be your mommy. You are such a pleasure and a joy
to parent. I know you pave the way for Lilah, being the oldest, but you are
such a good child to pave that path. Daddy, Lilah and I love you so much!!! Happy birthday, Addy!
Love you
forever and always,
Mommy
I know this is a ton of pictures, but I just had so much fun doing it with you. Your love language is quality time, so the fact that you got to go on a special outing just you and mom made it great in your eyes. These pictures so some of your personality, sweet, sassy and goofy. You kept coming up with new poses and it was just so much fun.
